Socializing the Academic Programs, the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences Held a Meeting with New Student Guardians

Friday, September 2, 2022, the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences held a new student guardian meeting for the 2022/2023 academic year. On this occasion, the faculty leaders and the heads of study programs were present and greeted the guardians. This event was conducted at the Convention Hall (Prof. R.H.A Soenarjo, SH) Lt.1 UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and online on Zoom Meetings.

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ubaidullah, S.S. M. Hum. delivered opening remarks and continued by the dean of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Wildan, MA. He greeted and welcomed the guardians and new students. He also said that choosing the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences to study was the right option, due to a large number of outstanding graduates from this faculty. So it is completely fine to send your sons and daughters here," he said. Hopefully, it would be a good synergy and cooperation among the Faculty, study programs, and parents that could give benefits to the students later.

The event continued with the handover of new students. The student guardians were represented by Nur Kholik Ridwan who was immediately welcomed and accepted by the dean of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences. Following this was a Question and Answer session. The vice-dean I, Dr. Ubaidillah, M.Hum., answered questions about academic information including curriculum, lecture mechanism, credit load, etc. Whereas, Vice-dean II, Dr. Uki Sukiman, M.Ag., answered about the campus facilities and UKT policies. Furthermore, Vice-dean III, Dr. Sujadi, MA., provided additional information about student affairs, collaboration, and scholarship. The event was closed with a prayer by Drs. H. Arief Gunadi, M.Pd.I.

As additional information, in the 2022/2023 academic year, the number of new students of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences is 504 students. They consisted of 122 students for the Arabic Language and Literature (BSA), 108 students for Islamic History and Culture (SKI), 134 students for the Library Science Study Program (IP), and 86 students for English Literature (SI). Meanwhile, there are 32 and 22 students in Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) and Islamic Civilization History (SPI) Master Programs, respectively.
