Remarkable Participation of a Young Lecturer of UIN Sunan Kalijaga at The 10th ICONSEA in Malaysia: An International Conference to Advance Southeast Asian Studies

Nini Salwa Istiqamah, a young lecturer at the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, was selected as a presenter at The 10th International Conference on Southeast Asia (The 10th ICONSEA), which was held from 6 to 7 December 2023 at one of the best universities in Malaysia, the University of Malaya. The conference is an international forum that is regularly held every two years and functions as an important forum to discuss various issues regarding Southeast Asia, including politics, economics, culture, history and society in the region. After going through a fairly strict selection process, Nini's research paper became one of 90 research papers selected to be presented at The 10th ICONSEA attended by researchers and scientists from well-known universities throughout the world. Nini received very encouraging appreciation from the organizers and other participants when presenting her research regarding religious moderation in Indonesia using the perspective of International Relations.

Furthermore, Nini's involvement was more than just a paper presentation. He was selected to moderate one of the parallel sessions, demonstrating not only his academic acumen but also his proficiency in developing scientific discourse. In addition to individual presentations, the conference facilitates collaborative exchange among participants. Nini and fellow presenters from various countries actively participated in round table discussions which explained the latest developments in Southeast Asian Studies at their respective institutions. This inclusive dialogue not only enriches academic perspectives but also lays the foundation for future collaboration and progress in this field.
