The Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences held the learning socialization (Sospem) for the new year students of 2022. It was conducted for three days, from Monday to Wednesday, 22-24 August 2022, and attended by 450 undergraduate students. Prof. Dr Phil. Al Makin, S.Ag., M.A opened this event in the university, followed by Dr Muhammad Wildan, M.A. at the faculty level.

Entering university is a transition process, both psychological and social. This event aims to prepare students for a new environment different from the previous level when they studied in senior high school. It involved 26 facilitators who are lecturers of FADIB. The materials were delivered using exciting methods and approaches.

The three primary topic materials consisted:

1. Core values of UIN Sunan Kalijaga
2. Soft skills for students
3. KKNI, SNPT and MBKM curriculum

By getting all these materials, students are expected to be well-prepared to comprehensively follow the UIN Sunan Kalijaga's learning process and become high-quality students in line with the faculty's vision of combining literature and Islamic studies programs.

In his remarks, the Sospem's chief, Dr Ubaidillah, S.S. M.Hum, said that may the students entering a study program that did not fit with their hope before. However, like every kid in a family, they cannot choose which family they were born in. What they should do is give the best to their family. When starting to study at university, they should do the best for their faculty, their university and their nation. It is in line with the rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s slogan “UIN Sunan Kalijaga for the nation, UIN Sunan Kalijaga goes globally”.
