I Daramatasiais a well-known story in Indonesian archipelago including Malay, Java, and Sunda. Prof. Suwardi explains thatI Daramatasia is Indonesian classical literature about sexuality. In addition, Dr. Mustari in this dissertation states that the text itself not only talks about sex but also about the gender relation between men and women. It is classical literature that familiar among Bugis society as folklore and, at the same time, became archaeo-anthropology of Indonesian classical literature.

In conclusion, the author states that I Daramatasiais a very popular story and has an important position in the lives of the Bugis people in South Sulawesi. With Levi Strauss's theory of structuralism,I Daramatasiais closely related to the cultural value ofSiriq na Pessewhich is opposing sharia values. This can be interpreted as an effort by the Bugis to reconcile the two values between traditional values on the one hand and sharia values on the other hand.
