The staffs of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences Participated in Excellent Service Training
YOGYAKARTA- Service is the spearhead for companies engaged in services including education services. Awareness to provide the best (excellent) service to customers and all other stakeholders is increasing, so professional training is needed to improve the abilities and skills of employees in excellent service. Realizing this, the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences (FADIB) UIN Sunan Kalijaga held an Excellent Service Training for Education Staffs. This activity lasted for two days (06-07/10/2021) at the Ros In Hotel, Yogyakarta.
Present at the opening ceremony were the Dean, Dr. Muhammad Wildan, M.A,, Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Uki Sukiman, M. Ag,, Head of Administration, Abdul Haris Mahmudi, Head of Sub-division of Academic Affairs, Head of Sub-division of General Administration, Head of Sub-Division of Finance and all education staffs. Besides that, Bono Setyo, Director of COMTC (Center for Communication Studies and Training) was also present who became a partner in the training activity.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FADIB, Dr. Muhammad Wildan, M.A., stated the importance of this training activity, to improve service quality as well as a means of refreshing for the education staffs. “Our main business is students. This is the most important element in the university. Therefore, service to students is important,” he explained. The dean also explained that administrative matters, a good system, a good curriculum would have no meaning if there were no students. “Excellent service is important for all of us to improve our performance. Excellent service does not mean adding work but more precisely in solving problems. Working smart must be supported by sufficient facilities. Maybe a good network, and so on,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Uki Sukiman, M.Ag. as the Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning and Finance, thanked the enthusiasm of the education staffs in participating in this event. He also explained that the practice of excellent service is important. The education staffs are expected to be able to have the attitude that must be owned including a friendly attitude, attentive, and have a sense of pride towards the institution, so that services can be carried out optimally.
Also present at this event on the first day (06/10) Dr. H. Mamat Rahmatullah, MM. Head of the Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs and Cooperation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. He also hopes that this event can be a motivation and the beginning of a better organizational improvement. The university in this case is ready to integrate and assist the students in providing maximum service. "This activity is very positive, especially for the improvement of the service sector, especially as we know that we work in an institution that is engaged in the service sector, so service will be the spearhead," said Mamat
In general, the purpose of excellent service is to provide the best service to customers, so that they can meet and satisfy customers and in the end the company or institution gets the maximum profit. This excellent service material was delivered by the Team from ComTC (Center of Communication Studies and Training) at the event which includes: Work Motivation, effective communication, Professional image, Excellent Service, Complaint handling and Customer Satisfaction. In addition to the material for two days at the hotel, the training is also continued with team work material as well as mentoring and evaluation which will be carried out at the faculty.
