Bi – Weekly #14 Alumni Tells Stories: Study at Library Science, The Future is Awaiting
The 14th Bi-Weekly Forum coincided with the agenda for the public lecture of the Library Science Study Program inviting two speakers, Ekhsanuddin, BA., SIP. And Ridwan Nur Arifin, SIP, who are alumni of the Library Science class of 2010. The online discussion was very exciting, guided by Andriyana Fatmawati, M.Pd. as moderator.
Ekhsanuddin, BA., SIP. currently serves as a policy analyst on the national advisory board on climate change under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. In addition, Ekhsanuddin is also currently studying at the School of Urban Science - University of Seoul. In his presentation, it was stated that as an alumnus of Library Science, the career fields that can be reached do not only revolve around libraries. With hard work and efforts to build a network, there will be wide opportunities to get good positions and opportunities in many fields.
The second resource person, Ridwan Nur Arifin, SIP works at Corporate Communications IPC. He began by telling about how the lecture period in Library Science was also the experience gained with library science lecturers. He advised Library Science students that when they graduate, they must sharpen their skills related to the field of science to become experts and other additional knowledge will follow. Ridwan also gave a message about personal branding that must be owned by someone who is obtained by pursuing only one area of expertise that is of interest.
At the end of the forum, both of them advised that if you want to be successful, you should be diligent in reading to broaden your horizons and work hard to achieve your goals.
