HMPS Master in the History of Islamic Civilization Held Technical Meeting of Journal Article Competition on History

On Monday, April 12, 2021, HMPS Master in History of Islamic Civilization (SPI), Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences held atechnical meetingfor a journal article competition on history for students throughout Indonesia.This event was held online and offline.The main theme of this competition was "Local Islamic History".Registration and submission of the article is open from April 9 to June 30, 2021.

According to Ilham Aziz, Head of HMPS Master in SPI, this competition was held so that students could compete and actively contribute in writing history.Head of the Master Program in SPI, Dr.Syamsul Arifin, M.Ag.Said in his remarks that writing journal articles is important for Master students in SPI because every SPI Master student who wants to graduate must publish articles in journalsHe stated that in the future among the requirements for graduation would be to publish a journal article with minimum Sinta 3 indexed journals. In relation to the chosen theme "Local Islamic History", Dr.Syamsul explained that the focus of the SPI master's study was on the area of ​​Indonesian Islamic History and Local Islamic History, which were both still considered insufficiently written.

According to the Vice Dean III who also gave a remark, this journal article competition on history was an annual agenda that was hoped to encourage students to produce writing in the form of book which had ISBN and IPR.Vice Dean III stated that the fairly long race registration span, about 3 months, would give participants the flexibility to write.The students of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences who excel will get appreciation from the faculty in the form of coaching fee.The competition itself, separately, would also provide awards in the form of coaching fee for the winners of the competition.

The big theme of "Local Islamic History" raised in this competition is divided into 4 sub-themes: (1) Islam and the Islamization in the the Walisongo Era;(2) Islamic Arts, Literature, and Culture in the Colonial Era; (3) Islamic Education in the Walisongo Era;(4) Islamic Economics, Politics, and Law in the Post-Independence.For the criteria, the submitted manuscripts are manuscripts that have been published in indexed journals or manuscripts that have not been published.If the participant sends a manuscript that has not been published, the participant is asked to include a statement of the authenticity of the manuscript.The 10 best manuscripts will be booked and the first to third winners will receive an award in the form of coaching fees.Complete information can be found on the Instagram account of HMPS Master in SPI at hmps_magister_spiuinsk.
