The delegation team of UIN Sunan Kalijaga consisting of Mad Yahya (student of English Literature, Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences), Indra Gunawan (student of Da'wah Management), and Sita Santi Saraswati (student of Communication Science) won first place in the National Writing Competition entitledToba Youth Social Expedition 2021in North Sumatra.The presentation of the academic paper was held offline with a strict Covid-19 protocol at the North Sumatra Youth and Sport Department Office on March 27, 2021. In the presentation, the team managed to amaze the jury.This event was held in the context of innovation and development of the creative economy of the Toba Caldera Geopark tourist area after its establishment as part of the UNESCO Global Geopark in 2020.

The winning was a result of a long process. It begasn with an abstract,full paper, departure process, and finally the presentation of the paper.Students from various Indonesian universities participated in this competition.At the presentation stage, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga delegation team received appreciation from the jury because the tourism development innovation that was presented was quite strategic with the conditions in the Toba Geopark area.As one of the national tourism strategic areas (KSPN), this area continues to develop various tourism potentials through various events and tourism promotions.Through this event, it is hoped that various innovations and student work can have a positive impact on tourism development in the region.In this event, participants were also introduced to various destinations and geological processes for the Toba Caldera Geopark area at the Toba Caldera National Geopark Information Center in Parapat, Simalungun, North Sumatra.

By writing a paper entitled“Caldera Techcycle Park: Integration of Educational Tourism Park with the Concept of Conservation of Local Wisdom of Rural Tech (Technology, Education, Culture, And History) Toba Caldera Geopark”, the UIN Sunan Kalijaga team developed an R&D research with the concept of tourism development with a view to conservation ofgeodiversity, biodiversity ,andculture diversityin the Toba Geopark area.According to Yahya, this result was hoped to be able to motivate UIN Sunan Kalijaga students to continue to develop their potential.Thus, in the end it can become real work and useful achievements.UIN Sunan Kalijaga for the Nation, UIN Sunan Kalijaga goes Global.
