Graduation and Briefing of Prospective Alumni, Graduates Period II Academic Year 2021/2022
The Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences UIN Sunan Kalijaga held Graduation and Briefing of Prospective Alumni Period II Academic Year 2021/2022 on Tuesday, February 15th, 2021. The theme was "Optimizing Creative Potential in the Millennial Era (Sharing Experiences in Calligraphy Creative Industry) by inviting Abdul Gani, SS from the ALIF Islamic Calligraphy Art Studio. This event was held in a mix method of online and offline in the Theatrical Room of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences. The offline meeting was attended by the faculty leaders, heads of all study programs, representatives of the best prospective graduates and representatives of graduates' guardians. As for the other participants was suggested to attend the meeting online on the zoom meeting room.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Widan, MA., congratulated the prospective graduates who had successfully completed their studies. Congratulations are also given to the guardians of prospective graduates who have succeeded in bringing their children to education at the undergraduate level. In his remarks, he advised not to be satisfied with the achievements obtained while studying at university. In addition, he advised to be proud as an alumni of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. "Grow a sense of pride, self-confidence, don't feel inferior, and always think positively about yourself.”
The next agenda of the event was material delivered by Abdul Gani, S.S. which was guided by Dr. Moh. Wakhid H., S.S., M.A., Secretary of the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program. On this occasion, Abdul Gani delivered material about the importance of creative thinking in today's digital era. Millennials are expected to be able to develop their potential and creative life in the midst of increasingly fierce competition in the world of work. In this case, he gave an example of the world of calligraphy that he had been involved in so far.
In this period, the Faculty of Adab and Cultural Sciences graduated 92 graduates. They consisted of 27 graduates from the BSA study program, 18 graduates from the SKI study program, 25 graduates from the IP study program, 9 graduates from the SI study program, 8 graduates from the BSA master's program, and 5 graduates from the SPI master's program. As reported by Dr. Ubaidillah, SS., M. Hum., vice dean for academic affairs, that as many as 64% of all graduates get a GPA above 3.51.
